“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

The Christian life was never meant to be hidden. Jesus compares His followers to light because light naturally makes a difference wherever it shines. A lamp does not draw attention to itself, it simply reveals what is around it. In the same way, our lives should point people to Christ rather than to ourselves.
This does not mean living for the praise of others or trying to impress people with our spirituality. Instead, it means faithfully reflecting Christ in the ordinary moments of life. A kind word spoken to someone who is struggling, honesty when no one is watching, patience in difficult circumstances, forgiveness instead of bitterness, and a willingness to help those in need all allow the light of Christ to shine through us.
People may never read a Bible, but they will read our lives. Our conduct either supports or weakens our testimony. When our good works flow from a heart that loves Christ, they become a witness that directs others to God. The goal is not that people would think highly of us, but that they would “glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Today, ask yourself: Does my attitude at home, my speech at work, and my behaviour in public reflect the Lord Jesus?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me to be a light in this world. Help me to live in a way that reflects the character of the Lord Jesus. May my words, actions, and attitudes bring glory to Your name and point others to You. Keep me faithful in the small things, that my life may be a testimony of Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
